Open Enrollment for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Crisis Component to Run January 6 – March 31


Community Action Kentucky today announced open enrollment for the Crisis Component of its Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will begin next week. Applications will be accepted January 6 through March 31, 2020, or until designated funds are depleted on a first-come, first-serve basis. FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2019): Enrollment for the Subsidy Component of Community Action Kentucky’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will run Nov. 4 through Dec. 13, 2019. GoFundMe Account Established to Support Miners Left Unemployed by Blackjewel Closure


FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 11, 2019): Community Action Kentucky today announced the establishment of a GoFundMe account set up by Harlan County Community Action to support miners and families recently affected by the Blackjewel LLC mine closures. Approximately 1,100 employees of the company have been left unemployed across the Appalachian region, including hundreds in eastern Kentucky.
